Soccer Knockout v FMDS

It was the perfect day for a soccer showdown. The sun was shining, the students were excited and everyone had shinpads! Our Senior Boys soccer team took to the field at 12:15pm and started the game strongly, earning the first corner. It wasn't long before Fairy Meadow scored, but we quickly evened it up. The game was hard and all the boys played amazingly well. Close to full-time we were all on tenterhooks as the score was 2-2 and no-one could remember who won if it was a draw. Was it the school who had the first corner (us!!), or was it the school that scored the first goal (Fairy Meadow!!). Not to worry - our boys put it beyond question by scoring another goal, taking the game with the final score of 3-2.

The girls were then ready for their turn. We had some students who were regular soccer players as well as some who were new to the game. They were all excited and looking to do their best. Fairy Meadow scored early on in the first half, but our girls continued to put their heart and soul into the game. Unfortunately Fairy Meadow were too good in this game and won 3-0.

Congratulations to every student who participated. You played with great sportsmanship and were great ambassadors for MOPS. You can see photos of the teams here.

Thank you so much to all the parents who volunteered their time to transport the students to and from Guest Park. It was great to have you cheering the students on from the sidelines.
